Leaving a question can feel uncomfortable because candidates often see it as giving up.
Under timed conditions, it can be good decision-making.
A mock test is the safest place to learn that skill.
When a question starts consuming excessive time, make a conscious choice rather than drifting.
Ask:
Do I know a clear method?
If yes, continue.
Am I making progress?
If no, consider moving on.
Is this question worth the remaining time?
That final question becomes increasingly important near the end of a section.
Timed practice teaches you to protect easier marks from one difficult problem.
Analyse the Timer After Every Mock
Don’t finish the test and look only at the final score.
Your review should answer four questions:
Where did I spend the most time?

With sectional timing, both still receive the same fixed window for each subject.
Your mocks should therefore build a strategy around your own data.
